I travelled in a berth bus from Chennai to Palani on 22 May 08. Departure time 9.30pm but the bus arrives around 9.45pm. Before reaching Ulundurpet, a/c failed, as the bus is a/c, the upper berth has no window so no possibility of getting fresh air. After waiting for service guy for about 2 hours the guy came but could not fix. Then reached their office at Ulundurpet. Another try was done still could not fix the a/c. Another hour wasted, then came Trichy. Passengers who got down claimed the refund for failure of a/c service. Another one hour wasted in Trichy, but still the a/c was down. When the bus reached Palani it was 1pm next day. Only 3 persons including me were given refund of rs 100/ that too late in the evening. Whoever got down at Palani bus stand (6 or more) did not bother to claim refund. Kpn do not have any refund policy for poor/failed service. Risk yourself to reach destination on time, when you travel in Kpn.
